Posted by:

Winnov is excited to announce Cbox integration with the Kaltura Scheduler! Single and recurring event recordings can now be scheduled for any Cbox capture appliance directly from Kaltura’s platform.

The scheduling integration enables customers with a simple way to schedule and create multi-video recordings and auto-generated metadata (chapters, hi-res images, thumbnails, and searchable text) which are automatically uploaded into the Kaltura MediaSpace (KMS) video portal and learning management system (LMS) courses.

High-Touch or Automated Classroom Capture?

Creating video content takes a lot more effort than just flipping on a camera.

After all, it seemingly takes a small army to make the videos we watch as couch potatoes in our living rooms. Technicians need to get equipment in place. The lighting needs to be just right. Audio inputs have to be managed. And once you have good video captured, you need other professionals to edit it all together.

Little wonder that some folks can get overwhelmed ...

The Pursuit of Simplified Webcast Production

Posted by:

By: Steve Vonder Haar

Meeting the demand for simplified webcast production has been the holy grail for streaming technology developers for years.

Leading vendors continually work to boil complex features out of their platform solutions. Indeed, several vendors of webcasting capture appliances seemingly achieved nirvana a couple years back by rolling out systems that allow presenters to record presentations at the push of a single button on the front of the device.

Today, however, simplicity is moving beyond the frontiers of straightforward push-button ...

Removing Human Error from the Content Capture Workflow

Posted by:

By: Steve Vonder Haar

When designing a streaming solution, it’s not a bad idea to know a thing or two about human nature.

Truth be told, many of us are absent-minded. Others don’t want to mess up their day fiddling with hard-to-use technology. And still others are just plain lazy.

There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. We all have our own shortcomings. Unfortunately, the success of a significant streaming investment may just boil down to designing a solution around our common failings.

Leveraging Software and APIs to Extend Automation

By Steve Vonder Haar, Senior Analyst Enterprise Webcasting & Streaming, Wainhouse Research, LLC

Good software has made it easy for all of us to take good graphic design for granted.

Even the most basic publishing tools make it easy to weave text, photos and graphics together to create great-looking brochures, white papers and other documents.

Of course, we all should be more than accustomed to seeing documents that blend multiple inputs into a single effective messaging vehicle. ...

Fire-and-Forget Video Production

Creating streaming video can be such a hassle sometimes.

Setting up cameras. Adjusting audio feeds. Getting the lighting just right. There’s a lot of work that goes into making presenters look presentable. Indeed, it’s fair to say that one of the biggest barriers to getting organizations to use video more frequently is the sheer challenge that can be associated with creating quality video content in the first place.

So the task for executives ...
